M1W1 – Planning & Time Management

Now, now at the end of week 1, as I have some idea of how the course is structured, having used the VLE for a week, I have decided how I am going to structure my time.

This is not necessarily how any team projects will be planned and managed, this is purely to manage my time and tasks as I progress through the course.

As I use Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) for my personal emails, and work emails, I have assigned two hours each weekday night and 5 hours each on Saturdays and Sunday for the the first module, and I have added these into both my work and personal Google calendars, so that family and work colleagues can see when I will be “unavailable”. I may change individual occurrences of these repeating events due to personal or work pressures.

I have also added each weekly seminar to both calendars for the first module.

So, that really takes care of my time management at a gross level.

For more granular management I am going to use my work monday.com account, and set up a folder in there and inside the folder I will set up boards for different elements of what I need to do. For example, I will set up a “Weekly Challenge” board where I can add tasks and notes on what I am going to do, and also a “Weekly Webinar” board where I can add each webinar add make notes before I write them up.

Other boards will be added as and when required. I find organising myself like these reaps rewards, as I have a clear view of what needs to be done. Sometimes it can be a chores adding tasks, but as long as I do I don’t miss anything

The folder and all boards will be made “Private” so that only I can see them.
